Irish becomes formal EU working languageIrish has from today become a formal working language in the European Union.
The addition of Irish will require 29 posts for translation, revision and publication as well as 450 freelance interpreters.
Howeverfor practical reasons, it has been decided that only regulationsadopted by the European Parliament and Council will have to beavailable in Irish.
